Box - Orchids and Butterfly - papier-mâché - Pasteboard box.

An antique decorative box made of pressed cardboard or papier-mâché, adorned with a lid painted with pink and white orchid-like flowers and a small butterfly. It is a rigid casket often found among early 20th-century collectibles. The inside of the box is painted a solid red/burgundy color. It could serve as a tissue box, a glove box, or a candy box. It belongs to the Art Nouveau or Art Deco period. At that time, the fascination with botany and exotic flowers was at its peak in Europe. The plain interior is also a classic signature of workshops of the era that used lacquers or protective matte paints. In good condition for its age. A small deposit inside that I did not dare to scratch so as not to damage the box, and signs of wear under the box. See photos. Careful packing and fast shipping.
