Brionvega - Television - RARE Algol 3 12" Orange

An absolute icon of Italian industrial design, we present the famous Brionvega Algol 3 portable television in its splendid and highly sought-after Orange Lobster color. Designed in 1964 by the partnership between: - Marco Zanuso (1916–2001): Father of Italian design and winner of 5 Compassi d'Oro. He was a pioneer in the use of plastic materials (such as ABS) applied to mass industrial production. - Richard Sapper (1932–2015): German design genius with 10 Compassi d'Oro in his career. Famed for fusing technical precision, pure geometries, and ironic or moving details (he also designed the Tizio lamp for Artemide). The Algol is famous worldwide for its tilted screen (designed to be viewed even when placed on the ground) and for its distinctive retractable metal handle. This 12-inch model perfectly embodies the spirit of the Space Age and is exhibited in the world’s most important museums of art and design, including New York's MoMA. In 1970, Brionvega won the Compasso d'Oro alla Carriera for its overall production. The official citation celebrated the company precisely for its ability to collaborate with the best Italian designers and for the very high cultural stature of icons such as Radio Cubo and Algol itself. Specifications and condition of the item: Model: Brionvega Algol 3 (12-inch screen) Designer: Marco Zanuso & Richard Sapper Color: Orange Lobster Antenna: Original circular antenna included and integrated, in excellent visual condition. For photographic testing, a laboratory power supply was used. The item is sold as a collectible piece or retro interior decor item. An unmissable opportunity to bring home a piece of Made in Italy design history!
