Calcite tree with red hematite

From our selection of collectible minerals we present a splendid group of Calcite crystals with Hematite from Daye County, Hubei, China. Moreover, it is characterized by a double generation of scalenohedral calcite crystals, arranged to form a striking "tree" silhouette, with colors ranging from the reddish-brown of the included hematite to the white and orange-pink of the more recent terminations, which enhance its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that highlight its natural structure and visual impact. The Daye district, in Hubei, is one of the oldest and historically most important mining areas in China, exploited for its skarn-type iron ore deposits since the Bronze Age. In these deposits calcite often grows in association with hematite, whose very thin embedded or overlapped crystals give the transparent terminations the characteristic reddish-brown hues. The growth in two distinct phases, visible in this specimen as a darker core covered by a subsequent generation of lighter crystals, testifies to variations in the chemical-physical conditions of the mineralizing solution over time. This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, displays, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, including crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, except for rare exceptional cases always noted in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight shade variations may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
