Callegari Sante - Relief, Adamo cacciato dal paradiso terrestre -

Wonderful bronze bas-relief created by sculptor Callegari Sante, depicting Adam expelled from the Garden of Eden, signature visible in the photo. Callegari Sante (Sermide 1881 - Milan 1967) Attended courses at the Brera Academy in Milan, in 1905 he participated in the Annual Spring Exhibition of the Society for the Fine Arts of Milan with two sculptures. After which he took part in numerous exhibitions, for example in 1907 at the Annual Spring Exhibition of the Society for the Fine Arts of Milan, in 1910 at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts of Brera at the Palazzo della Permanente in Milan, etc.. Until 1956 when the Monument to the Fallen in War was inaugurated in Sermide, a work carried out by the artist who had by then become established. Callegari died in Milan in 1967. The Modern Art Gallery of Milan owns six sculptures: Upright female nude, Bust of a young girl, Head of a young woman, Bust of a Child, Little laundress, Figure of an upright young girl. The work was probably created in the first half of the 20th century, in the Liberty period/style; it can be hung on the wall or placed on a piece of furniture. Measurements: 24 cm x 20.5 cm Good condition I performed a test by making a small scratch on the bottom of the plaque to verify 100% that the object is made of bronze; I have attached photos of the test.
