CAMUS — ESSAYS — PLÉIADE — 1967 - Lot 51

CAMUS — ESSAYS — PLÉIADE — 1967 CAMUS (Albert). Essays. Introduction by Roger Quilliot; texts edited and annotated by Roger Quilliot and Louis Faucon. Paris, Gallimard, Bibliothèque de la Pléiade, 1967. In-12, publisher’s softcover in full brown leather, spine decorated with gold fillets and a green title label, under Rhodoid and an illustrated dust jacket. Volume No. 183 of the Bibliothèque de la Pléiade. Reprint completed on May 12, 1967, on Bolloré bible paper. Includes, notably, *L'Envers et l'Endroit*, *Noces*, *The Myth of Sisyphus*, *The Rebel*, *Summer*, the *Algerian Chronicles*, *Reflections on the Guillotine*, *Speech in Sweden*, and the critical essays. This copy is of interest due to the presence of the original illustrated dust jacket and the Rhodoid cover. The dust jacket shows some signs of wear; the Rhodoid cover has small marks and imperfections, particularly at the top; there is a handwritten inscription on the verso of an endpaper, visible in the photograph.
