Candelabrum (2) - Gilt bronze - gold-plated bronze candelabras

In this auction we offer an important pair of candelabra in gilded bronze and marble of French manufacture, from the Napoleon III era. The candelabra have 8 lights, 3 on the sides and one in the center. They are complete with every single part and in good condition. The gilded bronze is in an exceptional state. The patinated bronze of the arms that hold the candles is also in excellent condition. The sculptural work of the bronzes is, to say the least, rich in detail. You can observe flowers, ears of corn, fruit, vegetal leaves, endless decorations. The arms are attached to the central body through small flowers that screw in, as shown in the photos. The marble columns are made with two separate blocks and feature a wonderful sculptural job carving vertical grooves along the full height of the body. There are very light signs of aging on the marble part, an ancient restoration on the base, and a very small nick. And a small bronze flower is missing (screw). The wooden part underneath is in excellent condition. All bronze reservoirs for supporting the candles are present, except for the two central ones which did not exist originally. The candelabras are in their found condition and would require professional cleaning to increase their already brilliant brightness. A marble cleaning could be considered, but we discourage it to preserve originality and antiquity. The central pin runs through the entire height of the candelabras. The original wrought-iron clamps are present. Measurements: 35 cm height Measurements: 25 cm width. Please review the numerous photographs, an integral part of this description, where the individual details are clearly visible. Congratulations to the winner of this auction.
