Candleholder C. 1880 - Victorian Adjustable Bedroom Candleholders (2) - Brass

A beautiful pair of antique French brass chamber candlesticks featuring an elegant design and an adjustable candle-height mechanism. These charming candlesticks originate from France and are believed to date from the late 19th to early 20th century. Each candlestick features a cylindrical stem with a vertical opening and a small sliding knob, allowing the candle to be raised as it burns down. This ingenious mechanism was designed to make full use of the candle while maintaining a comfortable flame height. The wide, shallow drip trays are designed to catch melting wax, while the beautifully aged brass displays a warm golden patina that adds character and authenticity. Their timeless French design makes them a wonderful addition to an antique collection, a traditional interior or a carefully curated vintage home.
