Carousel - Belgium, 1953 Manufactured by HALLAERS, Mariakerke, Ghent A superb carousel made of polychrome carved wood, painted and varnished, mounted on a metal frame, with polychrome painted wooden pediments featuring Walt Disney characters, a fabric canopy, and topped by a rearing horse carved from wood and painted in polychrome. It is fitted with 15 carousel cars from the manufacturers L’Autopède and Lenaerts (bus, fire truck, rocket launcher, radar vehicle, forklift, Mercedes, Rolls-Royce, Buick, motorcycles, scooters, tractor, etc.) equipped with an electrical system that enables the headlights to be turned on. Numerous functional lights (ceiling lights, string lights, light strips, etc.). Includes the “catch Mickey’s tail” game. The carousel’s speed is electrically controlled by a functional water-driven metal system. Control booth with an audio system, microphone, and speakers for playing background music, and a Gingle Box capable of playing 8 sound effects, all of which are functional. This beautiful carousel joined Thierry Dehaeck’s collection in 2017. It will be sold with a technical dossier including inspection reports for the carousel through 2016, annual certificates of compliance through 2016, 3 tokens that were used for the carousel, maintenance invoices, a weight analysis of the carousel by Ste Dewilde from 2026, and a quote for its disassembly in preparation for transport.
