Description Elegantly formed bell cup, flaring gently to the rim and tapering neatly to a short, finely finished foot. The body is covered in a soft pale celadon-tinged glaze, carved overall with concentric rippling waves in low relief — crisply moulded and finely detailed. Overlaying the waters is a vivid iron-red carp in full, dynamic curve, scales, fins and whiskers rendered with exceptional clarity and precision — a powerful motif symbolising abundance, perseverance and advancement, echoing the legend of the carp leaping the Dragon Gate. A refined and auspicious piece.
