Carpet - 350 cm - 255 cm - Old Chinese rug

A deep dark blue inner field and a light ornamental frame characterize this old, hand-knotted wool rug from China. With dimensions of 350 × 255 cm, it offers a generous format for living and dining areas. In the center lies a rounded floral medallion with a geometric inner ornament. Flowers in warm beige and apricot tones are accompanied by blue-gray leaves and curling tendrils. Matching floral arrangements adorn the four corners. The ample open spaces in between emphasize the dark blue ground color and give the composition a calm, balanced effect. The wide light border features alternating floral and geometric motifs. A slim meander band and further fine border lines structure the edging. Ochre-colored details provide warm accents and complement the contrast between the dark interior field and the light edge. This Oriental rug harmonizes especially well with cream-colored upholstery, natural wood tones, and individual accessories in blue or warm beige. Its clear layout allows the central medallion to stand out in both classic and simple modern interiors.
