Ceramic Ring-Handled Jar in Gunmetal Black

A stoneware vessel featuring a tapered, ovoid body that narrows toward a flat base and widens at the shoulder. The piece is finished in a matte gunmetal black, achieved through a blackened slip or reduction firing process. The jar is flanked by two small loop handles at the shoulder, each supporting a suspended, free-moving ceramic ring. The exterior is decorated with multiple vertical rows of incised wavy patterns created while the clay was leather-hard. The underside of the base features a circular white adhesive label with black text reading RUBIN COLLECTION. No maker's mark is evident on the base.
