Pair of French Louis XV–style chairs – Solid oak and woven seat – c. 1920 Elegant pair of Louis XV / French provincial style chairs, probably dating from the early 20th century, around 1920. The chairs feature a beautiful solid oak structure, in a warm honey-brown to medium-brown finish that reveals the natural grain of the wood. The high pierced backs are formed by elegantly shaped rails. The upper rail is particularly decorative with a carved floral motif in relief, echoed more subtly on the front belt. The front legs are curved and carved, in the spirit of Louis XV, while the whole is reinforced by fine turned stretchers, adding a lot of character to the silhouette. The seats are made of natural fibers woven in a beautiful traditional four-quadrant pattern. Their natural color contrasts harmoniously with the patinated oak. The pair presents a fine uniformity and preserves the authentic charm of French provincial furniture Characteristics: Quantity: 2 chairs Origin probable: France Era: around 1920 Style: Louis XV / French provincial Material: solid oak Seat: woven natural fibers Color: brown / patinated and natural oak Height: 98 cm Width: 42 cm Depth: 42 cm Beautiful decorative and functional ensemble, particularly suitable for an antique, chic country, or eclectic interior. Photographs are an integral part of the description and allow appreciation of the carved details, the weave, and the overall condition of the pair.
