CHINA. Hupeh. 20 Cents, Year 9 (1920). Wuchang Mint. PCGS AU-55.

Exceptional Yuan Shih-kai Minor from Hupeh CHINA. Hupeh. 20 Cents, Year 9 (1920). Wuchang Mint. PCGS AU-55. L&M-191; K-765; KM-Y-406; WS-0887; Wenchao-1058 (rarity: ★★). Paralleling the republican series of Yuan Shih-kai coinage, this provincial minor stands apart slightly in that there are additional characters to either side of his bust indicating its origin (鄂 for Hupeh). Very lightly circulated and pleasingly toned, with a mix of gunmetal gray and olive notes, this example stands as a RARE and important offering. Estimate: $10,000 - $15,000.
