Alle Auktionen / Münzen & Banknoten / CHINA. Silver "Reversed Dragon" Dollar Pattern, Year 3 (1911). Tientsin
Provocative Pattern Dollar with "Reversed Dragon" CHINA. Silver "Reversed Dragon" Dollar Pattern, Year 3 (1911). Tientsin Mint. Hsuan-t'ung (Xuantong [Puyi]). PCGS SPECIMEN-62. L&M-31; K-225; KM-Pn308; WS-0042A; Wenchao-115 (rarity: ★★★). Type II; variety with raised veins in outer leaves. A wondrous and exceedingly tantalizing RARITY of majestic proportions, this late imperial pattern offers a nearly-Choice level of preservation that is evident throughout. Hailing from the final year of the Ch'ing dynasty's final ruler, it features a "reversed" dragon that coils in an array opposite to that encountered on the eventual business strikes (L&M-36/37) for Hsuan-t'ung's last year. A wholly breathtaking specimen that exudes tremendous character and flair, with a sharp, crisp strike, radiant luster throughout, and a level of toning undoubtedly dazzles one's eyes. As such, a fantastic RARITY that will light up the stage when crossing the auction block. Estimate: $150,000 - $250,000. Provenance: From the Liu Mung Wang (汪柳門) Collection.
