Chinese jug, Song dynasty (960-1279)

Descriptio Globular jug ​​on a small circular foot. The wide body tapers to a narrow base and ends in a short neck with an everted lip. Four small tubular handles are symmetrically arranged around the mouth on the shoulder, intended to secure a lid or allow for carrying by cord. The base, partially unglazed according to the firing practices of the period, shows a dense, light beige paste. Thrown stoneware with an olive-green celadon glaze. China, Song Dynasty (960-1279). Good overall condition, with slight surface wear, minor firing irregularities, and original glaze defects. Height: 24 cm; diameter: 11 cm. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU).
