Christa McAuliffe Challenger Cover

Commemorative cover signed by Astronaut and Teacher Christa McAuliffe, selected as NASA's first Teacher in Space. Postmarked at Kennedy Space Center on January 28, 1986, the date of the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, in which McAuliffe and the other six crew members were lost shortly after launch. Signed "S. Christa McAuliffe" across the lower portion. McAuliffe signatures remain particularly significant within Space Shuttle and NASA collecting due to her brief period as an astronaut candidate and her death before completing her planned mission.
