DISPLAY MIP high Definition and the new CALIBER U812 The true visual and functional revolution of the new Citizen Promaster Wave Tracker lies in its combined dial. The Japanese company has implemented a Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) high-definition display. Compared to traditional LCD screens, MIP technology ensures exceptional legibility under direct sunlight – a fundamental condition during navigation sessions – while drastically reducing energy consumption. The beating heart of this range is the new internally developed Caliber U812 movement by Citizen. Thanks to this module, the watch introduces two main, very useful modes on board: Race Mode (Gara) and Tide Graph Mode (Tide Graph). NAUTICAL FUNCTIONS Race Mode and tide graph The Citizen Promaster New Wave Tracker is not just a pretty watch to show off on the quay, but a real professional tool on the wrist. 1. - Race Mode (Yacht Race Timer) In regattas, the countdown before the start is everything. The Wave Tracker is equipped with an advanced race timer: once the countdown begins in the minutes leading up to the start, the watch automatically switches to stopwatch mode as soon as the time elapses. This allows the skipper to monitor the exact duration of the race from the first second after the start line to the finish. Additionally, the rotating bezel with a calculator scale allows you to calculate angles, bearings and sail trim points (the yacht’s headings) based on wind direction. 2. Tide Graph Mode, lunar phases and dawn/dusk Safe navigation requires knowledge of tides. The Wave Tracker calculates the tide level at the selected position and shows hourly forecasts directly on the graphical display. It precisely indicates tide high/low times and changes in current direction. The watch also supports data on lunar phases and sunrise/sunset times for 203 cities worldwide.
