Classic Engagement Ring with a 1.07 Ct Diamond (F, IF) in Yellow Gold

The classic solitaire ring—a ring featuring a single diamond—was popularized by a design created by the jeweler Tiffany & Co. in 1886. To this day, this style of ring has remained the epitome of the engagement ring: It embodies all the symbolic power one could expect from a piece of jewellery that carries a promise. This solitaire ring was created on our behalf. At its center is a diamond in a modern brilliant cut of the highest quality. The stone weighs 1.07 ct and has been graded as rare white+ (F) and IF, meaning Internally Flawless. Its proportions, symmetry, and polish are all excellent. An independent appraisal of the diamond by the Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) is included with the ring. However, this loupe-clean diamond not only boasts perfect clarity and a very good colour—its cut is also perfect. The cut of a brilliant-cut diamond is evaluated in three categories: the symmetry of the cut, the proportions of the individual parts of the stone relative to one another, and the polish of the surfaces, on a scale ranging from “excellent” to “poor.” The brilliant-cut diamond featured here has the highest quality in all three categories. For even though the number of facets in a brilliant cut is always the same, the execution of the cut often varies greatly: It is a handcrafted process that can achieve such an astonishing level of quality that it contributes to the stone’s value. And indeed, the cut has a significant influence on the stone’s brilliance. We manufactured the ring entirely in Germany. The setting was cast for us in Pforzheim, finished in Berlin, and the diamond was set into the ring in Idar-Oberstein. We sourced the gold for the ring sustainably from antique pieces of jewellery. This is the first time this diamond has been used in a piece of jewellery.
