Welcome to the corridors of the brand new Auber RER station: 225 meters long, 4 km of corridors, 73 escalators, 15 elevators at the time, and a president. The shot went around the world. It was taken by Jean-Claude Delmas, a photographer at the Agence France-Presse. He spent 50 years photographing the whole world, knew the former president well, and he was there, in the right place, at the right time.
