He combines traditional pottery techniques with more visually contemporary ideas and sensibilities, stemming from his work with the late Colin Pearson. Their collaboration began in the early 1990s and explored unusual forms and experimental glazes. Gorry’s work is often characterised by minimalism, contrast and balance, incorporating naturalistic forms with architectural shapes and elements. He has exhibited internationally, including at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and continues to be an inspirational force in the world of contemporary ceramics.
