COLOMBIA. 50 Centavos, 1914. Birmingham (Heaton) Mint. PCGS MS-65. KM-193.1; Restrepo-414.3. Variety with closed "4". An example that was procured at the same place and time as the previous lot, this piece shares the latter's exemplary fields and expert strike, making one think that it too should have garnered specimen status. Nevertheless, abundantly tantalizing and attractive, with an alluring cabinet nature to the toning. A RARE example this lofty, and by far the finest observed in the PCGS census. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000. Provenance: Acquired from Spink in London, July 1984. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
