Title: Concordantia Bibliorum Sacrorum Vulgatae Editionis Author / Editor: Hugo von Saint-Cher (Hugonis Cardinalis) Place / Publisher / Year: Lugduni (Lyon), Ex Typographia Petri Valfray (1687) Format / Size: (ca. 28x20 cm) Collation (Extent): 4°: [12] S., 1028 S. Description: This is an antiquarian Latin Bible concordance from the year 1687, printed in Lyon (Lugduni) by the publisher Petrus Valfray. The monumental work in large-Quarto format (4°) is based on the corrected edition of the Vulgate Bible (under Pope Sixtus V.). The shown exemplar includes: Half-title: Plain preliminary title before the main text. Main title page: Elaborate Baroque printing in red and black with a copper-engraved vignette (motto: „Sed coelo vera corona manet“). Content & Structure: Contains the royal French printing privilege (Privilege du Roy) and an extremely dense, three-column typeset from page 1 to 1028. Condition: (Binding): Damaged with clear signs of aging. The contemporary leather spine and covers are heavily worn, rubbed, and show leather losses (especially at corners and edges). The binding, however, remains structurally stable. Interior (Text block): In very good condition. The complete internal contents are clean, firm and stable. There are no notable damages, cracks, or text losses. Short catalog summary: Exterior damaged (age-typical leather flaws), interior in very good and clean preserved condition.
