The lot includes a fabulous illustrated book, a scholarly look at Corto Maltese, in a first edition of 2018 of almost 240 pages. Condition: like new, see photos. Published on the occasion of the exhibition at the Musée des Confluences, the catalog is a journey through Pratt's work, featuring original plates, unpublished material, archival materials and photographs, to reconstruct the “horizons” of a panorama that connects cultures from all over the world. Pratt used to say he loved living “in a world of myths,” with an adventurous spirit driven by the curiosity typical of a child. His gaze, expressed in drawing, watercolor and storytelling, is here related to testimonies from cultures and civilizations that illuminate the fabric of his imagination through time and across continents, from Oceania to the Canadian Far North, from the Sahara to Venice. Masks, ornaments, weapons, jewelry, clothing, objects of worship and knowledge dialogue with characters and situations through a large number of unpublished documents and graphic works, all to be discovered, inviting the reader to a fascinating journey. In addition, a Sergeant Kirk comic from 1969 and a very rare softcover Ace of Spades from Edizioni Lo Vecchio, a collector’s item.
