ew Series - The Dreamed Shadows David Law Photographer – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of images in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light, and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – The Dreamed Shadows The Dreamed Shadows explores the boundary between presence and disappearance. A feminine silhouette is drawn through thousands of photographic fragments, forming an image that seems both real and dreamed. From afar, the eye perceives a figure nearly sculptural; up close, it dissolves into a multitude of images and details. Each fragment thus contributes to the construction of a presence that seems to emerge from memory. A work where the image appears, decomposes and is reborn according to the viewer’s distance. Edition & Fabrication Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated back mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV-resistant and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary look. Career Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual work, he develops a body of work as a writer and musician, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book, and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
