ew Series – Swarms David Law Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront dummies, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Swarms This series explores the invisible link that unites beings, where every face is born from a multitude of individual presences. Composed of thousands of silhouettes in motion, these works evoke the strength of the collective and the uniqueness of each destiny. The forms assemble, disperse and transform, drawing a poetic cartography of humanity. Between matter and movement, these compositions invite contemplation of our belonging to a larger whole than ourselves. Edition & Production Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum sheets, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary look. Background Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the dedicated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual work, he develops an authorial and musical practice including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
