David Law - Confluence X

ew series – Confluence David Law Photographer-Artist – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later, captivated by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New series – Confluence Confluence explores the meeting of two bodies in a space where forms merge with light. Male and female silhouettes approach each other, intertwine and respond to one another in plays of backlight and deep shadows. Faces disappear to give way to lines, curves and physical presence. An evocation of intimacy, attraction and encounter. Edition & Fabrication Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs.
