Crypto Rock Special Series - Reconstituting a photo using photos of the represented artist. Photographer—Artist – Creator of contemporary images A multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first gained recognition with a series devoted to shop-window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Drawn next to the singular aesthetics of vintage dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost lifelike presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection. New series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary re-reading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop-art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction composed of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it reveals a wealth of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject depicted. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. Extensive work is carried out on color, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Fabrication Each artwork is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum panels, with a soft UV- and humidity-resistant laminate, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term resistance, color stability and a modern, contemporary appearance. Parcours Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the dedicated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops an author’s and musician’s career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. Singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
