Crypto Movie Special Series - Reconstructing a photo using photographs of the represented artist. Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later drawn to the distinctive aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate subjects acquire a troubling, almost lifelike presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection. New series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary rereading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction made up of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it reveals a wealth of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave”, evoking the artistic universe of the subject portrayed. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. Extensive work is done on color, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Production Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by an authenticity certificate. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated rear hanging hardware. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and moisture-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, great long-term resistance, color stability and a modern, contemporary look. Career Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the appointed photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual activity, he develops authorial and musical work including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
