Alle Auktionen / Möbel, Design und Spiegel / Degué - Ceiling lamp - glaspasta, Wrought iron

The name Degué is generally associated with the French glass artist David Guéron. The brand name Degué is derived from the initials of David Guéron. Degué belongs to the French Art Deco movement of the interwar period. With the outbreak of World War II the factory closed and Guéron moved to the United States where he died in 1950. The chandelier is in good condition but shows signs of use, namely some scratches on the blakers but little visible up close. The chandelier dates from the 1920s. This is clearly evident from the beautiful wrought work in which the shade hangs. The glassware is marbled glass paste in several pastel colors that spread a beautiful warm light. In the last photo you can see one of the three original intermediate pieces of the fixture up to the ceiling. These intermediate pieces are included. In the other photos you see chains that were used to shorten the height of the chandelier. These chains are not part of the chandelier and are not included. The total height measured from the ceiling to the shade is approximately 90 cm with the original rods. The chandelier is provided with the original French bayonet fittings, which you can replace with current fittings, but the bayonet lamps (size B 22) are available in specialty shops and can also be bought online: for example at Bol.com, Amazon.com, and others. The chandelier is shipped exclusively within the European Union.
