Mintmaster: Hans Flemming (HF). This excessively rare piece is the largest of all Danish Broad Talers in private ownership and one of only three known with two in private ownership. This specimen still retains most of its details and has regained some toning. This stunning presentation coin, which was clearly inspired by the German Lösers, was struck in the city of Shakespeare's Hamlet by the Dutchman, Hans Flemming. Rather unusually, the king is shown wearing a feathered hat, but the two soldiers behind and underneath the horse set a military scene. Estimate: €6,000 - €10,000. “NOTICE TO EU BUYERS: This lot is temporarily imported into Denmark and, following the auction, must be returned to the United States to close the temporary import.
