Desk lamp - Patinated steel., Steel

Special and elegant vintage eyeball desk lamp, finished in warm brass and bronze-toned metal. This characterful design lamp combines the clean geometric lines of Mid Century Modern design with the futuristic look of the Space Age period. A striking design that stands out for its long, slender double arm assembly, distinctive semi-circular lampshade, and ingenious balance mechanism. The lamp has a sculptural appearance and forms a stylish decorative object both when on and when off. Design and form The most characteristic element of this lamp is the long, diagonally mounted double metal arm, connected to the vertical support structure via a cylindrical hinge point. At one end is the distinctive eyeball lampshade, while the opposite end is fitted with a cylindrical counterweight. This construction creates a visually exceptional balance and gives the lamp its recognizable architectural look. The lampshade has an elegant, rounded shape and is equipped with a metal bracket that allows the light direction to be adjusted. The metal base consists of a semicircular housing on a wide, flat circular base. The subtly curved vertical support rod forms a pleasing contrast with the straight lines of the long arm. The combination of curved and straight forms is characteristic of experimental lighting designs from the mid-twentieth century. Adjustability and functionality This desk lamp features several interesting structural properties: - Long double metal balance arm. - Cylindrical counterweight at the end. - Central hinge and adjustment mechanism. - Tilt-adjustable eyeball lampshade. - Stable round metal foot. - Elegant curved vertical support. - Electrical connection via cord. Thanks to the adjustable construction, the lamp can be placed in various positions. The photos show the lamp both in a high diagonal position and in a nearly horizontal stance. This makes the versatility of the design clearly visible. Materials and finish The lamp is made of metal with a warm brass and bronze-toned finish. The surface displays a beautiful, naturally aged patina that enhances the authentic vintage look. Particularly appealing are the subtle color variations in the metal, ranging from dark bronze to warm gold and brass tones. The lampshade has a dark exterior and a light-reflective interior, making the design both decorative and functional. The combination of the slender metal frame, the rounded lampshade, and the heavy round base gives the lamp a timeless and refined character.
