Symbolism The depiction can be read as a symbol of: * youth and innocence; * dreams, hope and freedom; * happiness and festivity; * letting go and longing; * inner calm and contemplation; * the fragility and transience of beautiful moments. The balloons symbolize freedom and lightness, but may also refer to dreams and memories that can drift away at any moment. The closed eyes give the girl a calm, almost meditative look.
