Title: Female Nude ㅤ School: Spanish School (20th century) ㅤ Author: Domingo Álvarez Gómez (Barcelona, 1942) ㅤ Style: Figurative realism ㅤ Technique: Pastel on paper ㅤ Condition: Good overall condition. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: The work is situated in the Spanish figurative tradition of the second half of the 20th century, with particular attention to the study of the female figure. The delicacy of the pastel, the luminous treatment of the skin, and the atmospheric construction of the background reveal a sensitivity close to lyrical realism and the Spanish luminist tradition. The female figure is also one of the recurring motifs in the known body of Domingo Álvarez Gómez, from whom other pastel-on-paper works dedicated to the nude and to female figures are documented. subastasgranviadebilbao.com ㅤ Domingo Álvarez Gómez, born in Barcelona in 1942, is a Spanish painter, illustrator, and draftsman. He began professionally in illustration at an early age, working for Spanish and foreign publications, especially the British market. His trajectory later evolved toward painting, developing a figurative production in which the female figure, portrait, and landscape stand out. Viquipèdia ㅤ The composition depicts a young woman viewed from behind, clad in a light white dress with a wide posterior neckline. The figure appears in an intimate and natural posture, with one arm raised while she gathers or arranges her hair. The anatomy is resolved through soft pastel gradations, particularly noticeable on the back, shoulders, and arms, where the light delicately models the volumes. ㅤ The background is built with diffused patches of greens, ochres, blues, and earthy tones that suggest a garden setting without recourse to meticulous definition. The luminous white of the dress contrasts with this more vaporous background, concentrating attention on the figure and adding depth to the composition. The work is signed in the lower right corner. ㅤ The piece is presented framed with a wide dark brown moulding, combined with an inner passe-partout or cream-toned mouldings and gilded profiles. The combination provides visual depth and enhances the warm, luminous tones of the piece. ㅤ Observations: Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by an surcharge due to factors such as being outside a continental territory, exceeding the item’s dimensions or weight. PremiArt will in no case cover this surcharge. ㅤ The courier that must cross the Swiss border may experience much longer delays than usual, so, if possible, to speed up processing, we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so the customer can unblock it and thus reach its destination. Experience has shown this is the most effective solution for both parties. ㅤ The artwork may sustain damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such a case, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority. ㅤ Due to the high volume of shipments, orders may be delayed by more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. Any questions about your order please contact us via internal messaging. ㅤ Measurements: 54 × 45 cm Measurements with frame: 71 × 62 cm
