Ducretet Thomson - D 2205 baby Art Déco Bachelite Tube radio

Radio from a collection produced in 1939 by Ducretet Thomson of Paris. Compact-sized model, with a fantastic Art Deco-style case in phenolic resin. Five valves, three wavebands (LW-MW-SW). Operating voltage 110-125 Volts. The cabinet, made of very glossy phenolic resin, shows light signs of wear and aging, yet is in excellent condition of conservation. Radio coming from a private collection; looking at the chassis, no recent servicing work has been performed. The radio powers on and, during the evening test, by connecting a short piece of wire to the antenna socket, managed to receive a few stations on the SW band. Notes: Radio not serviced, sold exclusively as a collector’s item. For a possible connection to the electrical network, a voltage adapter (step-down transformer) from 220 to 110 volts is required (not included).
