Dutch school (XX) - Boerderij aan het water met schip

This atmospheric painting depicts a tranquil Dutch riverscape, in which calm and simplicity are central. Along the shore lie moored ships, while a group of farmhouses, surrounded by tall trees, complete the rural scene. A wooden stair leads from the buildings to the water and forms a subtle connection between land and river. The artist has in a remarkable way captured the warm light of the setting sun, which colors the sky in soft golden-yellow and orange tones. The reflections in the almost ripple-free water enhance the serene aura of the work. The contrast between the dark silhouettes of the trees and buildings and the light evening sky gives the painting depth and a romantic atmosphere. The whole exudes the nostalgia of the Dutch countryside life from bygone times. The work has some damage and loss of paint; see photos Executed in oil on canvas. Not framed Dimensions of the work approximately 82 × 138 cm Viewing is possible
