DUTTS (Charles). — *Cahiers du silence*. Paris, Kesselring Éditeur, [circa 1975–1980]. Quarto, paperback, illustrated color cover. An album by Charles Dutts, combining texts and graphic compositions in a fantastical, erotic, and deliberately grotesque universe. The book is lavishly illustrated with large black-and-white compositions, often full-page or double-page spreads, in which human figures, dreamlike visions, and organic forms intertwine. The overall aesthetic is reminiscent of the underground and fantasy illustration of the 1970s. Published by Kesselring, a Swiss publisher that was particularly active in the fields of comics, illustration, counterculture, and erotica during the 1970s. A good copy. The interior is well-preserved. The cover shows fairly noticeable signs of wear: yellowing, scuffing, small creases, and signs of handling, particularly on the back cover.
