E. García - Nuestro querido Rocky XL

"Our dear Rocky" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work features a small black-and-white dog sitting on a wide orange armchair, which becomes the absolute protagonist of an interior full of color. Its direct gaze at the viewer adds personality and closeness to a domestic scene built from a cheerful and affectionate sensibility. The composition places Rocky in the center of the frame, framed by the enveloping shapes of the armchair. Around him, the space is organized through large chromatic fields: a deep blue wall meets another yellow one, while a series of decorative plates introduces small floral and circular motifs. On the left, a narrow table with cups and everyday objects completes the sense of a lived-in home. The palette is especially vibrant, dominated by cobalt blue, bright yellow, orange, red and black, with small white and pink accents. The contrast between the warm colors of the armchair and the blues of the background further highlights the animal’s silhouette. Surfaces are built with visible brushstrokes and broad areas of color that deliberately preserve the freshness of the painterly gesture. The simplification of forms and the expressive use of color establish a dialogue with Fauvism and with the interior tradition of Henri Matisse. The decorative plates, domestic objects, and intense chromatic contrasts stop functioning merely as descriptive elements to become an active part of the painting’s visual structure. In "Our dear Rocky," the pet portrait also takes on an intimate character. The dog’s attentive posture, its expression, and the armchair that seems to belong to it transform a daily scene into a small homage to the presence of animals within family life. The work conveys companionship, familiarity, and a certain sense of humor without abandoning its marked pictorial construction. "Our dear Rocky" will be particularly appealing to collectors interested in contemporary figurative painting, dog portraits, pets, colorful interiors, Fauvism, domestic scenes, and paintings with strong chromatic content. The combination of the animal’s character and the space’s intensity makes the work a warm, recognizable image full of personality. Authenticity and Shipping: The work is offered directly by E. García, guaranteeing its authenticity with a certificate signed by the artist himself. The painting will be carefully rolled and protected inside a sturdy cardboard tube for shipping.
