Alle Auktionen / Wine & Spirits / E. Pira Chiara Boschis
Chiara Boschis’s (E. Pira & Figli) Barolo DOCG Mosconi originates from one of Monforte d'Alba’s most celebrated and historic Crus. The Mosconi terroir yields a traditionally muscular Barolo—characterized by robust tannic structure, full body, and deep balsamic qualities—which Chiara Boschis’s refined, organic winemaking balances with extraordinary elegance and fruit clarity. Barolo Mosconi 2014 Profile & Tasting Notes: A cool, complex vintage. It presents an aromatic profile that is tighter and more evolved than usual, featuring notes of crisp red fruit, dried violet, subtle spices, menthol, and leather. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with well-defined tannins and pronounced acidity. Scores: James Suckling: 93 | Wine Spectator: 93 | Vinous: ~92-93 Barolo Mosconi 2015 Profile & Tasting Notes: A warm, generous vintage. The wine displays rich aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, licorice, and rosemary, along with the ferrous/earthy note typical of Monforte. On the palate, it is broad, warm, and enveloping, supported by a powerful yet smooth tannic structure. Scores: James Suckling: 97 | Robert Parker (Wine Advocate): 94 | Wine Spectator: 93 | Vinous: 93 Barolo Mosconi 2016 Profile & Tasting Notes: A monumental vintage for the Langhe. An extraordinarily deep and multifaceted nose: blackberry, lipstick/violet, tar, minerals, and balsamic notes. On the palate, it shows incredible concentration and energy, with a sculpted, precise tannic structure and an exceptionally long finish. Built for long aging. Scores: Robert Parker (Wine Advocate): 96 | Vinous (Galloni): 96 | Wine Spectator: 95 | CellarTracker (Average): 96-99 Barolo Mosconi 2017 Profile & Tasting Notes: Stemming from a hot, dry vintage, it reveals unexpected aromatic freshness: ripe raspberries, aromatic herbs, white pepper, licorice, and intense floral notes. On the palate, it features a dense, slightly powdery tannic structure, well-balanced by good savoriness. Scores: James Suckling: 95 | Wine Spectator: 95 | Robert Parker (Wine Advocate): 94 | Vinous: 94 Barolo Mosconi 2018 Profile & Tasting Notes: A balanced and refined vintage.
