Alle Auktionen / Sonstige / E. SIEGL - Sculpture, "Sluipende leeuwin" - lengte 29 cm - 14 cm - Ceramic
Expressive Art Deco crackle glaze sculpture of a hunting lioness stalking a rocky terrain. Notably the menacing depiction of the head and forepaw and the refined openwork of the hind leg and the tail. The craquelures are fine and uniform, indicating good craftsmanship. The sculpture dates from the interwar period (the 1920s/1930s) and was made in France. It is signed with E.Siegl on the pedestal. Length 29 cm – Width 9.5 cm - Height 14 cm Reference: Patrick Malaureille – “Craquelés – Les animaux en céramique 1920-1940”: image p. 69 The sculpture is in very good condition. No restorations, cracks or damaged pedestal which is common with this type of sculpture. Some small imperfections on the hind leg (see first photo). Photos are an integral part of the description. The sculpture is very carefully packed and shipped with track & trace. #madeinfrance
