Edgar DEGAS (d'après) Coiffure du matin Original Engraving (etching and aquatint) from a monotype On Rives vellum paper 25 x 32 cm INFORMATIONS : Around 1880, Degas started a series of monotypes inspired by the Parisian brothels. These works were a part of his personal collection but were bought in the early 20's by Ambroise Vollard ( famous art dealer for Picasso, Cézanne, Renoir or even Georges Rouault). He entrusts them to Maurice Potin who tranfered them on copper plates and printed them. Vollard published them in 1935 in two portfolios printed in 350 copies. This engraving comes from Maurice Potin's archives. Excellent conditio
