GOLDEN MURMUR Portrait of a dark horse, seen in three-quarter profile, with arched neck and head slightly flexed. It wears a leather bridle, bit and tightened rein, details rendered with a realistic, precise brushstroke. The coat alternates cool, brown and greenish reflections over a nearly black base, and the warm amber gaze anchors the whole composition. The background is the canvas itself, clear and unsaturated. Framing it is a border of vegetal motifs stamped in gold and ochre tones, ornamental in character, close to wallpaper or tilework. In the lower right corner, two horizontal bands of gold-imitation metal sheet provide a bright, almost architectural counterpoint. The contrast between the naturalistic volumetric rendering of the animal and the flat decorative background is the axis of the work: the horse seems to stand out against an ornament, like a heraldic figure. The imitation metallic sheet adds shine and texture without using real gold. The piece belongs to the "Bestiario" line of El Último Centauro, devoted to portraits of horses, bulls and other creatures, with attention to their presence and symbolic charge. He trained as a Bachelor of Plastic Arts at the Academy of Plastic Arts in Las Tunas (2008-2012) and earned a degree in Visual Arts at the University of the Arts of Cuba, ISA (2013-2018). He was a designer and photographer at ISA (2018-2022) and taught design in its Restoration Faculty (2018-2019). He has been a member of the Hermanos Saíz Association since 2015 and of UNEAC since 2022. Among his solo exhibitions are "The Last Ashes" (UNEAC, Las Tunas, 2025), "Instincts" (Las Tunas, 2023), "Dimensions of Presence" (AHS, 2022), "Trance" (AHS, 2020) and "The Grand Salon" (Escena Estudio, Havana, 2018). He has participated in group shows such as "After Dark, the Party Begins" (AHS, 2025), "State of Spirit" (Cuba Pavilion, Havana, 2022), "Warning: Painting" (ISA, within the framework of the 13th Havana Biennial, 2019), the 7th Cuban Contemporary Art Salon (Old Havana, 2017) and "Misen en scene" (ISA, within the framework of the 12th Havana Biennial, 2015).
