Elegant White Gold Bracelet with Diamonds & Tanzanites, c. 1975

This bracelet from the 1970s combines two great fashions and innovations of its time, both in its design and in its materials. His design is cool and abstract, radiantly white in the light of 3.50 ct diamonds of very good quality in white gold settings. The effect is of a double band of diamonds wrapped around the arm, with brilliant cut diamonds set in prongs and single cut diamonds set in delicate arches. This play with different cuts and settings as well as the combination of diamond and white gold is typical of jewellery from this period. Secondly, the band is set with tanzanites, shimmering violet-blue gemstones that were only available on the jewelry market in the 1970s. The gemstones were first discovered in Tanzania in 1967. The following year, the New York jeweler Tiffany & Co. introduced these gemstones to the jewelry market as "Tanzanite", named after the place where they were found. In combination with diamonds, they can perfectly show off their wonderful color, which changes depending on the incidence of light. The band is in very good condition and found its way to us here in Berlin.
