Elephant Bird Egg - Incredible Museum Specimen - Egg...

This beautiful Aepyornis egg, a giant bird now extinct, has been reconstructed thanks to the skill of collectors and restorers, to give us the chance to experience the emotion of holding in our hands an object from another time, something that at present cannot be created in nature anymore. Covered with sediment to reveal the state in which it is found, a natural treasure with a large portion of shell visible. A fascinating and rare collectible piece. A highly valuable object to preserve and proudly display in our Wunderkammer. The Aepyornis became extinct in the 17th century, due to human interference on the island where it had diversified and grown, Madagascar, having survived for millennia in a protected environment.
