Elio Lazzari (1942) - Rio di Burano

Elio Lazzari (Venice, 1942) is one of the best-known contemporary Venetian painters, appreciated for his evocative views of the lagoon and everyday Venetian life. Described by critics as "one of the last great Venetian vedutisti,” he has exhibited in important Italian and international venues, including New York, Washington, and Luxembourg. His works are present in numerous private collections and represent an authentic testimony to the Venetian painting tradition. In this painting, Lazzari captures the authentic essence of the Venetian lagoon (a characteristic view of the island of Burano, with its typical architectures, moored boats, and the skyline dominated by the distinctive bell tower). The composition stands out for a liquid yet decisive brushstroke, capable of conveying the reflections of water with extraordinary liveliness and naturalness. The color palette, playing on cream, lilac, and bright grays, returns a suspended, almost poetic atmosphere, typical of Venetian light. Excellent overall state of conservation, ready to be inserted into a collection or to adorn with elegance both modern and classical settings. An excellent opportunity to acquire a piece of the history of 20th-century Veneto landscape painting, ideal for both passionate collectors and lovers of Italian figurative art.
