Signs of age and wear in the framing are evident. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: Work related stylistically to the tradition of European Baroque religious painting, particularly Marian representations developed during the 17th and 18th centuries. The sweetness of the faces, the delicacy of the gestures and the treatment of motherhood evoke the influence of Bartolomé Esteban Murillo and devotional painting of Italian and Spanish roots. The expressive softness and the intimate character of the scene also show affinities with the Rococo sensibility of the 18th century. ㅤ The composition represents the Virgin Mary nursing the Child Jesus, following the traditional iconography of Virgo Lactans, one of the most intimate and meaningful representations of divine motherhood within Christian art. ㅤ The Virgin appears with her head slightly inclined toward the Child, showing a serene, delicate and maternal expression. She wears a tunic in reddish tones and a blue mantle, while a veil in warm tones frames her face. ㅤ The Child Jesus rests on his mother's arms and gazes at the viewer, establishing a direct connection with the person contemplating the work. ㅤ The scene unfolds against a dark background, with small stars reinforcing its sacred character. The soft lighting and warm flesh tones contrast with the deep blues of the clothing. ㅤ The overall impression conveys contemplation, tenderness and spirituality, essential characteristics of Baroque religious painting. ㅤ The work is presented with an imposing ornamental wooden frame, with abundant carved mouldings, vegetal motifs and gilded details on a base of aged grayish and silvery tones.
