Large Italian ewer with Egyptian-inspired decoration – Polychrome ceramic and silvered metal – Hand-painted – Vintage – 33 cm Magnificent and impressive Italian decorative ewer in an Egyptianizing style, dating probably from the second half of the 20th century. This elegant piece is distinguished by its superb polychrome decoration inspired by ancient Egypt, depicting an Egyptian figure surrounded by traditional motifs, stylized hieroglyphs and raised lotus flowers. The ceramic body, entirely hand-decorated, is paired with a rich metallic mount with a silvered finish, including a sculpted, finely worked handle, an elegant spout and a circular ornamented base. The whole presents a beautiful harmony between the vivid colors of the ceramic and the silvery reflections of the metal. The ewer also has its decorative stopper, which adds to its aesthetic appeal. Under the base are the inscriptions “Made in Italy”, “Hand Painted” and “Riprod. Vietata C.C. Art. 2598”, as well as a crowned shield.
