Weighing almost 13 troy ounces (or over one troy pound) and standing three inches tall, it is solid sterling silver with vermeil gilt filigree and accented with six diamond-shaped malachite gems. With stand, the height is 4 and a half inches. Inside the egg is a beautiful hand-enameled multi-color sterling silver butterfly surprise and beneath it, a gilded silver long-stemmed rose resting on a lining of royal green velvet. The outside of the silver egg is decorated with pure gold and tiny genuine malachite gemstones. The tripod stand is original to the egg and is also made of sterling silver vermeil with malachite accents.
