Figurine - Large Vintage Sosaku Kokeshi Doll - Signed...

An impressive and exceptionally large vintage Sosaku (creative) Kokeshi doll. This refined artwork is hand-carved and painted by the respected Kokeshi master Mitsuo. The doll bears the original signature 'Mitsuo saku' (光男作) on the bottom. This doll distinguishes itself by its clean, minimalist mid-century design. The face has a serene, refined expression and the hair is beautifully styled in a traditional, high-angled knot. Her red kimono is elegantly decorated with hand-painted yellow/gold floral motifs, creating a striking contrast with the natural wood. With an impressive height of about 39 cm, this is a very prominent collectible that fits perfectly in both a traditional Japanese and a modern design interior (Wabi-Sabi / Mid-Century Modern).
