Antique Porcelain Half Doll Pincushion – Large Elegant Lady with Outstretched Arms, Burgundy Dress and Exquisite Antique Floral Lace – Circa 1920 A beautiful and particularly elegant antique porcelain half doll pincushion, believed to date from the early 20th century, approximately 1910–1930. This impressive example features a finely modelled porcelain lady with an elaborate powdered hairstyle, decorated with a delicate pink flower and green leaves. Her beautifully painted face features soft rosy cheeks, finely detailed eyes and delicate red lips. Both arms are gracefully extended away from the body, with beautifully sculpted hands. Importantly, both arms and hands are completely intact, with no chips or visible damage. The porcelain figure measures an impressive 9 cm in height and is mounted upon a substantial, full, bell-shaped padded pincushion skirt. The skirt is covered in rich burgundy fabric, beautifully overlaid with delicate antique cream-coloured lace featuring intricate floral embroidery, decorative sprays and an elaborate scalloped lace border. The lace is attractively gathered around the bodice and tied into a decorative bow at the back, creating a wonderfully romantic period appearance. The combination of the larger porcelain figure, elegant pose, richly coloured fabric and elaborate antique lace makes this a particularly appealing example of an early porcelain half doll.
