Woven in Istanbul, Kum Kapi rugs represent one of the most technically ambitious traditions of late-Ottoman and early-Turkish workshop production. The design revisits the bold medallions, angular ornament, and strongly defined borders associated with early Anatolian carpets, translating them through a more refined workshop technique. Condition Request Condition Report Lot # 462 is in good condition, considering the age. The metallic background doesn't show any signs of wear or tear. There are scattered visible signs of wear in the border. The two ends are original and secured. The sides are secured.
